PADDY POWER - Women's Euros Protest Blimp

With no men’s international football tournament in 2022, you'd have thought The FA would be putting everything behind the Women's Euros.

But they just weren't giving the competition the respect it deserved. They were painting the tournament as one of equality, whereas their stadium selections pointed to anything but. Showing no faith in the competition's ability to draw the crowds, some of the venues were tiny - selling out in minutes and leaving thousands of fans disappointed.

It prompted an outcry, with players and fans alike proclaiming the venue selections an "insult" and "embarrassing".

We worked out that the Manchester City Academy stadium - the venue selected for Belgium vs Iceland (with a paltry 4000 seats) gave a great view of the Etihad, clearly visible on the BBC’s coverage of the match.

So we called out The F.A. and questioned their aspirations for the tournament - and show that in reality, The F.A. really were doing F.A. for the womens' game…
